Syracuse Crunch, The Oncenter War Memorial Arena

LED DISPLAYS, SCORING, VIDEO REPLAY CONTROL ROOM,
EXTERIOR DIGITAL MARQUEES
AJP worked closely with the Syracuse Crunch to design, procure and manage the installation of a 22,000-pound LED center hung for the Upstate Medical University Arena at The Oncenter War Memorial. The new scoreboard features four 4mm LED video displays, a 6mm upper LED ring, and four custom corner LED wedges. The sideline Ribbon Board displays include four 10mm LED sideline sections and four 10mm “bookend” displays. Two 10mm Press box LED displays were also added to the center sideline section. The North End Zone Ribbon Boards include two 10mm LED sideline sections. For the primary scoreboard, the arena required the removal of the existing hoist, and the installation of anew 15,000lb capacity hoist. This required minor structural modifications and was bid separately from the LED and Broadcast elements.
The project also involved the design, procurement and construction/integration oversight of a Video Replay Control Room, Broadcast Cabling, Fixed-digit Scoreboards, Locker-room Clocks, Goal Lights and Controllers. Exterior marquees were upgraded to digital displays. AJP is working with Syracuse on IPTV upgrades, completed in 2019.
