PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

FLORIDA PANTHERS AND ANTHONY JAMES PARTNERS DELIVER TRANSFORMATIONAL TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES AT AMERANT BANK ARENA
Next-Generation Videoboards and Broadcast Enhancements Elevate the Fan Experience

Supported by Anthony James Partners (AJP), Amerant Bank Arena, home of the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers, completed one of the most ambitious technology upgrades in the NHL.

A NEW ERA OF IMMERSIVE DISPLAYS
Designed by AJP in close collaboration with the Panthers, the new center-hung features displays joined to form a continuous 360-degree canvas. Spanning 151 feet in circumference and 31 feet high, the center-hung boasts 4,762 square feet of digital display area and is 180% larger with a 325% increase in resolution over its predecessor (27.6 million pixels). High-resolution underbelly screens ensure premium seat holders have a direct view of every play from any seat.

Suspended above the scoreboard, a 75-foot-diameter LED halo creates an additional 258 feet of continuous display space. Other new LED installations include more than 1,800 linear feet of ribbon boards, a club-level horseshoe ribbon, new vomitory displays, a redesigned tunnel display, and dual lobby boards extending the digital experience throughout the venue. Outside, new digital marquee upgrades enhance visibility and fan engagement before guests even enter the arena. Together, these improvements transform Amerant Bank Arena into a modern showcase for live sports and entertainment.

ANC was the awarded integrator installing advanced LED display technology manufactured by Yaham, and executed the installation with professionalism and precision.

HOIST AND RIGGING SYSTEMS
AJP engineered a complex hoist and rigging system to support both the center-hung and the halo display. The system allows the displays to accordion upward for non-sporting events, ensuring unobstructed sightlines. It was critical that the new 80,000 lb hoists not reduce the arena’s existing show rigging capacity. To accommodate the new structure, the bowl audio system had to be relocated, with speaker hoists strategically repositioned to maintain full grid weight allowances. These measures preserve the arena’s flexibility for concerts and live events while safely supporting the expanded displays.

AUDIO SYSTEM RECONFIGURATION
Reconfiguring the bowl audio system to accommodate the new LED technology required extensive logistical coordination. Existing speakers surrounding the center-hung and halo were repositioned to fit around the new, larger structure, with additional speakers installed in the end zones to fill coverage gaps. Speakers from the bottom of the old scoreboard were also redeployed and integrated into the underside of the new display. Collectively, these modifications improved clarity and balance across the bowl, delivering consistent coverage while maximizing sound quality.

BROADCAST PRODUCTION ENHANCEMENTS
In addition to the video display upgrades, the Panthers have completed Phase 1 of a multi-year upgrade to the arena’s broadcast production system, also designed by AJP. At the heart of the new system is the Ross Tessera Content Management System, providing a robust and flexible platform for managing and delivering dynamic content throughout the arena.

BeckTV, the awarded broadcast integrator, executed the system installation and integration, ensuring a seamless transition to the new IP-native infrastructure. The upgrade empowers the Panthers with future-ready, SMPTE 2110-based media workflows designed to enhance live game broadcasts and venue-wide content delivery.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
Permitting delays, last-minute inspections, and unexpected structural modifications all collided with a packed event calendar — including concerts, Monster Jam, Cirque du Soleil, and Disney on Ice — leaving virtually no margin for error. Under those conditions, even a single setback could have pushed the project off schedule.

AJP supported the Panthers organization by coordinating the onsite management of multiple integrators, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver incredibly complex technology improvements without disrupting the arena’s demanding events calendar.

“AJP exists to remove risk and maximize return for our clients,” said Michael Rowe, CEO of Anthony James Partners. “This project demonstrates exactly how our process works — we don’t just design scoreboards and technology systems; we stay engaged through every hurdle: finding the best product and installer, managing every inspection and construction challenge, and ensuring systems are performing at their highest level. And we’re here for our clients long term. That’s what separates us in this industry.”

“Each year we research and implement new ways to improve and enhance our fan experience at Amerant Bank Arena and across all of our venues,” said Florida Panthers President and CEO Matt Caldwell. “We are thrilled at what the new technology of this brand-new scoreboard will bring to our arena’s atmosphere and the exciting ways it will engage our fans. We are excited for our fans to see the fully completed scoreboard in full use on Oct. 7 for our home opener.”
