With architectural renovations planned for Davis Wade Stadium with a 2022-23 football season target for completion, AJP was hired as Owner’s Representative and Technology Consultant to design, help procure and oversee the installation of the LED Scoreboards, Ribbon Board Displays and LED Operating System. Nearly 20,000 square feet of 10mm resolution LED was installed by the awarded vendor Daktronics, including: North and South Video Displays (54’H x 144’W and 51’7”H x 129’7”W respectively), East and West Ribbon Displays (3’10”H x 469’W and 5’H x 372’W), and a North Ribbon Display (5’H x 414’W, broken into three sections of 138’W). The Show Control Operating System and Scoring System incorporated (four) delay of game clocks, (eleven) locker room clocks, and (two) controllers.
In 2016, AJP worked with MSU to design a state-of-the art production facility that was upgraded in 2022 with a new Video Replay Control Room, along with Broadcast Cabling and Network Infrastructure upgrades. The new control room will provide opportunities to further enhance the experience through expanded replay offerings, additional “Game Break” updates from across the league, and an elevated game presentation through new animations, graphics, and videos. The combination of the new video and ribbon boards will give fans inside Davis Wade a more immersive atmosphere than ever before. The facility also has fiber to multiple venues on campus, including Humphrey Coliseum (basketball), Polk-DeMent Stadium (baseball and softball), and MSU Soccer Field (soccer) and connects to ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT, and to SEC Network headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
